Random Photos and Stories

Long overdue updates on the boys!  They are turning out to be SO different!!!

CONNOR

Likes: mommy, attention, mac and cheese, animals, talking, and shooting things.
Dislikes: tuna, chocolate, being dirty, clothes (keeping them on), pooping and going to bed

So Connor's new fad is calling everything Genius!  Like people said 'rad' then 'awesome' then 'cool' and 'legit'... Connor says Genius.  'That's so Genius Mom!!' :)  Oh me oh my...  He's a trend setter and too cool for school that's for sure! :)

Since Connor was a baby I would always tell him I loved him and hold my hand up with the sign language symbol for 'I love you', he would try to do it back but his fingers always looked mangled and uncoordinated.  So a couple weeks ago I told him I loved him and signed it to him and he tried for a second to sign it back, looking frustrated and confused.  Then his face lit up and he said "I love you TOO!" and held up two fingers :)  He's a good little problem solver!  Way to think outside the box Connor!

We were on a very very long roadtrip from NC to FL, I was sick as can be, Vale was puking in his car seat and well it was just plain awful.  Toby was going ballistic when we got food on the road... I was so frustrated and said 'Toby if you don't stop I'm gonna throw you out the window".  Well Connor didn't like that at all, he got very upset and said "NO! Don't throw Toby out the window!!  He would get scared and be all alone and LOST!!!"  I apologized and told him I didn't really mean it.  Two hours later Toby was freaking out in the back seat and Connor said to him "Toby if you don't settle down mommy is gonna throw you out the window!!!"  Sigh... great...

Connor's thing for the past... I don't know 3 months has been pretending to be an animal.  Anything from a lion, tiger, bear, or polar bear... it must have claws and be ferocious! Sometimes he's a nice tiger but sometimes he's a mean tiger and wants to fight with you (aka wrestle around and claw at each other).  But recently he's been hunting!  He'll walk around with a fake gun and hunt for the lions or whatever is 'dangerous' in our house.  He tells me not to be scared because he will protect me and Vale. :)  OH and warthogs have been the recent danger... I commonly hear 'Mommy!  There are 4 warthogs in the hall!  I will shoot them!!!' :)

VALE

Likes: daddy, gold fish crackers, chocolate, going to bed, toby, using a fork, being dirty and the stairs
Dislikes: hotdogs, getting his diaper changed, pooping, being told 'no', and baby gates.

Vale is really developing a personality... and strong will... :)  He doesn't get that from me sooo... must be from dad... ;-)

Speaking of dad... this kid ADORES his father!  When Jimmy has to leave to go to work or school he starts bawling and goes over to him holding his arms up.  Recently he's starting saying, 'don't go!! don't go!!'  Talk about tear your heart out!!!

He is a helper and is understanding SOOO much!  We ask him to get something or put something away and he does it happily, which we are very grateful for.  He likes to help us load and unload the dishwasher... trainin' him young I tell ya! :)

He is very happy go lucky and laid back at this point in his life.  He's just happy to be involved.  He's NOT happy when he's strapped in, can't get down or is restricted somehow.  He is a little climber!!!  I found him a couple weeks ago on the BACK of the couch!  Yeah... he had pulled the duplo's box over to another box, made stairs to climb up on the arm of the couch so he could get to the back of the couch.  I see stitches in our future... pray. :)

This little guy is a stunner! :)  His blue eyes are adorable and his hair is a wild, but fashionable, mess!  He will go to anyone... and I mean that.  He's the reason that church nursery's need to have pagers or identifiers for parents to pick up kids.  I was standing at the front desk of the gym and some lady came up and said he was cute and Vale just leaned right into her, arms out.  She held him for about 5 minutes and he was happy as could be.  Sigh...

He is a little runner!  He books it everywhere!  I suppose he has to keep up with Connor but it's incredible how fast he is!  And he's not like Connor in that he wants to be where I am.  He could care less if I'm in the room, which means a lot more covert messes!  He emptied a ton of dirt out of a plant at my parent's house onto the floor... oops!  He likes to play in the toilet water, regardless of if it is empty or not... yuck!

Dr. Connor Mahon

So Connor got a dr. kit from his Uncle Trevor and Aunt Kati and he pretty much thinks it's fantastic.  :)

His absolute favorite is giving shots... He must clean the area first!
He very gentle but...

...he wants you to react! :)  Jimmy does a good job... :)
He wants to be able to comfort you and reassure you that it's ok!

He is very serious about your check up!
(ha notice the band-aid on his hand... it didn't fit on Jimmy's arm... ha!)

HAHAHA this was GREAT!  Connor took his temperature and after it was taken Jimmy asked if this was an oral or rectal thermometer and Connor replied "both". :)

He had to check his ears, where he found a lovely family of dancing polar bears!  He removed them... don't worry!

Connor is telling Jimmy to say 'ahh' :)

Jimmy's check up went well!  He told me at my check up that things didn't look good! well!

Vale didn't really get the whole check up thing...

He preferred to cuddle with Toby...

He really loves his little buddy! :)

LA Children's Museum

We went to the Zimmer Children's Museum in L.A. and it was great for our little group!

The kids had a great time performing on this stage.

Connor got to wear a tiger costume!  He acts like a tiger all day everyday so you think he would have been a bit more excited... :)

They had a huge wall with all these animals you could put together as a puzzle.

There was an entire kitchen that the kids had a blast playing with.

They had a boat that was surrounded by a ball pit.  The boys LOVED jumping off the boat into the 'water'.

The boys had a blast in the ball pit...

They had these water tubs that the kids could play in... and of course water was a hit... :)

Connor was my little construction worker :)

They had these water sprayers that would make all these wheels turn and fun reactions... Connor had a lot of fun with those!

Vale had a great time pushing around this little ambulance.

It was a great day and we will probably go again! :)

Day at the Park with Daddy

So we went to the park with Daddy recently on his day off!
It was so much fun!  I love doing things as a family.

The boys fed the ducks and had a ton of fun... well Connor had a ton of fun... Vale was totally confused as to why I didn't want him eating the old, nasty stale bread... :)

Vale was more like the Duck Hunter than the duck feeder... :)

Connor on the other hand thought it was fantastic that he could make the ducks fight over bread!

Vale was plotting... :)

We then went and played catch in a big open field and ran around after run away balls :)

Then we went to the playground where the boys had a blast playing.  Connor is the master of 'climb' so any apparatus that is able to be scaled is his friend...

This was the first time that Vale, all by himself, would crawl up and go down the slide and then repeat over and over... it was fun to watch him be independent! :)  Granted he did go down the slide head first, facing up... but hey... he survived and the fall from the slide to the ground was only about 6 inches... :)

The boys really do LOVE playgrounds!

All in all we had a great day with daddy!!! :)

Hair, Tigers and Gun Appreciation Day

Oh my little Vale is a wild man at heart... those killer blue eyes and crazy hair will melt you in seconds... :)

Jimmy tried to tame the beast (his mop of hair) and it was cute but I think I like my wild man better :)

And then you have this wild man... :)  He spends about 25% of his day as a lion, tiger, bear or some sort of growling animal... :)

He even has claws... :)

And this is his typical prey... Vale. :)

Connor's new favorite movie is Born Free, the 1965 semi documentary on converting a domesticated Lion to freedom.  In the movie the main guy is a game warden who hunts dangerous animals... well guess what Connor's favorite new past time is!!!  Hunting wild animals!!! :)

So for Gun Appreciation Day Jimmy made him a serious duplo weapon! :)

He even taught him how to use it...

And Connor spent the next half hour warding off the wild wart hogs that were attacking from down the hallway... :)

Oh I love having boys! :)

Disney World!

So I have had a ticket to Disney World for EVER... like since the early 90's... haven't used it and figured if I didn't use it now, we weren't gonna be back in Florida until after Connor turns 3 and then we have to pay like 80 bucks for him to go!  So I took both boys to Disney without Jimmy... but it was FREE!!!  Can't beat that my friends!

Vale LOVED it!!  He had a blast on the tea cups!!  He wanted it to go faster! :)

Connor was a tad bit more reserved... but had a blast as well!

I think they had the most fun though meeting Pooh and Tigger!!!

I enjoyed watching them!

They were both ecstatic and Connor talked about it all day!  He got to jump with Tigger!!! :)

He and grandma went on the flying dumbo ride!

He had a lot of fun with her!

I missed him, just after this, stroking her face lovingly :)

This was pretty much Vale's expression all the way through 'It's a Small World'... :)

Connor loved watching the shows and is STILL talking about Tinkerbell flying from the top of the castle and then disappearing where he couldn't see her anymore! :)

We had an awesome time!  I can't wait to take the boys to Disney Land with Jimmy in the spring!
