Connor has been wanting to ride on a REAL horse since before we went to Santa Anita.
His grandma and grandpa decided to make that dream come true :)
He was so small compared to the horse!
I was a little nervous that he was going to be scared but he was fine! No fear at all just excited!
I think Jimmy was more nervous than Connor was :)
I was also hoping that Vale would understand that this was Connor's birthday present, not his, and he did!
He was just happy for his brother!
Jimmy was thrilled cause he got to walk a goat named Zeus... yeah... Jimmy has asked for a goat several times since then... oh. my. They eat everything. No.
Vale didn't ride the horse but he did ride grandpa! :)
He was so excited!
Vale did get to SIT on the horse with Connor... that seemed to be enough for him.
Connor did great and took to it right away!
He was a serious horseman!
He learned how to make the horse go, stop the horse...
Turn it right...
... and turn it to the left...
... and ride with no hands...
... he was very focus on the task at hand.
He LOVED his horse Sierra! She was a Peruvian Paso and very gentle, smooth and a perfect ride for a toddler.
Connor then asked the guide if she had any carrots to give to Sierra, it was cute! She went in the barn and found some carrots.
Vale wanted to do it too... he was a little bit more intimidated.
He loved looking at the horses though! He was very excited!
We then went and fed the chickens.
The chickens were a little bit scared of the boys... understandably.
So Vale petted this chicken and loved it... then he wanted to bet the GIANT turkey that was in the with the chickens. Well the turkey was a little bit more violent than the chickens and pecked his hand pretty hard. It didn't really HURT him, just kinda startled him and didn't feel good.
Well he backed up quickly and we told him that it was ok and he can pet the turkey. Vale resonded, while backing away holding his crotch, 'NO! He'll bite my penis!!' I thought I was gonna die laughing!!! The turkey's head was right down by his crotch and the poor kid had a legitimate fear I suppose!
It was such a fun day!! We loved it!!!
I will cherish that memory forever and I hope the boys will too!
