My little funny man!

This little guy LOVES his cowboy boots!!!

So I've started putting jell in his hair sometimes... he's too cute!!

He's so expressive and has a great little smile!

We went to chic-a-fil for lunch the other day and he was playing in the play area while I sat right outside the area on the other side of the door (glass, I could see everything...).  Anyway there were some mom's in there and I saw him talking to one.  After he ran away the lady opened the door and asked me that was my son.  I said yes and she wanted to know how old he was and I said 2... She said oh cause when I asked him what his name was he said, " my name is C-O-N-N-O-R!"  Sigh... he's a character!

I like to take opportunities at lunch time (when they are strapped down and hands are occupied) to talk about and teach about Jesus.  Well we were talking about God's omnipresence and how even thought we can't see him, he's everywhere.  Connor was having fun telling me all the places Jesus was i.e. on the table, out the window, upstairs, in the car, in his bed, etc... Then he said "oh well when Jesus is in my bed He will say 'hey how are you' and I tell him 'SHHH Vale is sleeping!'"  hmmm hasn't grasped the story of Samuel yet... have a little ways to go... :)

So Connor got a hair cut and one of the nursery workers at church noticed and commented on it to him.  She told me when I came to pick him up that she told him she liked his hair cut and he said, 'Yeah I'm handsome' while running his fingers through his hair. Nice...

This one was probably funnier in real life but I swear if I had a video camera I could have won America's Funniest Home Videos... Jimmy had brought some donuts home on Sunday morning so I wouldn't have to make breakfast (very sweet) and amongst them was come chocolate covered ones.  I gave the boys the plain ones that morning but there was a leftover chocolate covered the next day so I figured I'd let them have it for breakfast.   I gave him part of the donut and he strarted profusely and saying 'No mommy NO!!!  I don't want that!  Don't make me eat it!  Throw it in the trash!!!!'  I was a little taken aback by this response so I asked what was wrong?  He cried 'No Mommy it has poopy on it!!!  I don't want a donut with poopy on it!!  It's yucky!!!'  Oh it was HILARIOUS!  I was laughing so hard it was hard to console him.  They when I said 'no look buddy it's fine' and took a bit he FREAKED OUT!  Trying to scramble out of his chair... it was SOOOOO funny.  Oh my goodness I'm telling you... wow... It was great.

Doctor visits are always fun...

I never posted about the boys Dr. visits at the beginning of the month.
First of all, they are both happy and healthy (besides the kidney thing)

Vale is in the 12% for weight, 23% for height and 47% for head circumference.
Connor is in the 7% for weight, 0.8% for height and 93% for head circumference.
Ain't nottin' average bout my chillins! :)

Poor babies had to get shots... both of them.  Imagine me there by myself... Holding down a child with my right hand and body while balancing the other with my left arm on my hip. :) Fun times I tell ya! :)

They were very good and Connor did a good job of comforting Vale and being a good big brother. :)

Vale is 11 months old!!!

Vale is 11 months old!! AAHHH! Time is flying!
He wasn't exactly mr. chipper on his month-bday though...

grouchy pants!

who needs a bib...

He did take his first 3 steps on his special day!!! :) YEAH VALE!
He stood up in the doorway and I saw him out of the corner of my eye so I looked over to make sure he wasn't going to fall and hit the door jam and what do you know, he took three steps towards me then went down onto his knees to crawl!

This is us trying to get him to replicate the event... wasn't happening.

He's realized he gets around much faster on all fours so he's in no rush to walk... sigh... oh well.

He is a happy little man though when he's eating!  Loves his bottle and any kind of food!

I think that might have to do with the teething.  He likes to chew on EVERYTHING...

Still got those sweet baby blues...:)

Vale doesn't say much but he sure does like to scream!  He communicates with us through his pitch, low ooo's when he sees something that he'd like us to give him, short bursts of ah ah ah's when he feels he's being ignored and wants attention and high pitched shreeks when he's mad because no one is heeding his requests.

Vale is sleeping through the night!!! WHEWWW WHOOOO!!!!! :)  One happy mama right here!!!  Four nights in a row 8 to 6...

He loves to play in the bathtub, shower, sink or any body of water you will let him get close to.  Absolutely adores the pool and love to splash water everywhere.

He is now completely weened.  He started doing formula only about a week ago and is doing great on it!  We gave him infamil first and that made his exude a very weird vinegary smell... it was odd... the moment we switch to similac though, it went away.

Vale loves the taste of anything you give him but not the texture!  If it's mushy, be assured it's coming back out... he really likes to eat things on his own.  He doesn't like to be fed.

Vale LOVES to climb!  When he sees the baby gate is down he makes a beeline for the stairs.  I caught him today standing on the dishwasher door playing with the things on the top rack as I was loading... he had climbed up on there to get to what he wanted.  He will just go over anything in his way as well when he's crawling on the floor.  Not a big fan of going around... over, through or under... sigh... :)

2012 PKD Walk in Los Angeles

This years walk was GREAT!
We had a lot of fun being together and supporting Polycycstic Kidney Disease research.

The Mahon, Loves, and Smith Families were all there to support us!
Say hello to team "The Mahon Brood 2012"!

This year the walk was in Santa Monica right on the beach.  There was a park there and it was a perfect location!
(we were there early to set up so there was BEFORE most of the people got there... it was packed!)

Jimmy was still in the security mindset... :)  He was guarding those free bananas! :)  By the way, thank you to the individual who donated the fruit from Trader Joe's!!!

There were two big tables set up (on like this on the other side of the stage) from UCLA giving out information about dialysis and kidney treatments!

They did a penny kids dash before the walk... we tried to get Connor to run but he got shy... :)

Jimmy being goofy... :)  The team who had the most team spirit got a certificate... it replaced this one in the frame.  Jimmy wanted to feel special so held up a blank discarded one.

Connor had fun playing with Charity! :)  He loves to make her giggle.

The walk took us down to the pier then we walked back.  It was a really nice walk!

Here's our little mob of walkers!  They said they were expecting 300 walkers and there were a LOT more than that... don't know total numbers but there were a lot of people!

Connor and Vale love their Uncle Trevor and Aunt Kati!

YEAH!   We did it!!!

We ended up raising almost $74,000 total!!!  YEAH!!

Can't wait till next year!

The mahon boys are already little rascals

My boys!!

Vale likes to recline and watch Elmo while drinking his bottle... wow... he's def male...

Connor loves his little Bible that his Daddy gave him for his first birthday!  It's nice having Trevor and Kati here... they will take our boys to church when we are running late! :)

Soooo they are def siblings... Connor was laughing because he put Vale's paci in the baby gate and Vale couldn't pull it out... nice... he did finally give it to him though and Vale was a pretty good sport about it.

So now we know how Connor got so much money in his piggy bank... he's been robbing relatives!!!
If you, or someone you love has been a victim of his vicious crimes call the law firm of Mahon & Mahon and we will get you justice.

What is his signature you might ask??  He'll rob you while in his underwear...

Vale chews on EVERYTHING!!!  If it's on the ground... it's in his mouth... ugh!

He's a sweet little guy though and he's getting more teeth!!!  Bottom two in and top two busting through.

Connor's such a sweet kid... he's got a HUGE imagination and gets so excited about everything!

It's bubble time!!!  Now that it's not 700 degree's outside we've been playing outside more.

We went to a friends house for a ladies tea and there were about 15 kids there!  It was crazy!  Fun but crazy!

Connor had fun playing with his friends!

Vale did NOT want to fall asleep but when he finally did... this is how he was sleeping. :)

Story's bout my boys...

Connor comes toddling in at 5:45am, it's still dark and I'd really like to keep sleeping so I pull him into bed with me and snuggle him in, trying to get him to go back to sleep.  Well he's very bothered by something and says 'MOMMY look at my finger' and tries to show me his finger but since it's dark he ends up shoving his finger in my mouth and scraping it up against my gums (ouch).  I pulled it out and annoyed said, 'what!?'  I tried to feel on his finger for a hangnail or something and said 'what is it Connor?'  He joyfully exclaimed 'A booger!!'  ugh... lovely... I choose to believe it fell off BEFORE it entered my mouth... We are lovingly titling this story "A toddlers version of breakfast in bed".

So safe to say Connor is potty trained, here is why.  Because of previously circumstances at church we had to put him in a pullup and on the way home he REALLY needed to go 'peepee on the potty'.  He was getting really upset and saying ouchie when he would feel his bladder tighten like one does when they are feeling the urge to pee.  He was whining and crying... finally I told him that just this time he could peepee in his diaper.  He announced 'I'm going!!!' and then Jimmy asked him is he felt better and he giggles and said yyyeeeaaahhh! :) then when he was done he let out a long relieved sigh.  It was great...

Vale LOVES to sing!  It's so cute!!  He'll be in his car seat or recently in his crib just singing away!  I think he just misses his GG (she's his favorite person to sing to).

I think we may have rounded a curve with Vale!  My baby might be sleeping through the night!!!!  He stopped breastfeeding about a week ago and the past three nights he has been sleeping pretty well!  He'll wake up and I'll give him his paci and he goes back to sleep.  Last night he slept ALL night!!!  Whew whooo!!!  Then at 6am I gave him a bottle and he went back to sleep till 8:30!  Maybe it's just a growth spurt but I'm holding out hope for the sleeping through the night for good!

Well Vale is the most kissable baby I've every seen and that's a good thing because he's also the 'booboo' king!  The kid, in the past two weeks, has pulled a cement log out of the fireplace onto his legs, falled down the stairs twice (one time PAST my legs as I was right behind him!), been hit in the forehead by a wooden game carrousel (thank you Connor...), smashed his lip on the side of the tub and dozens of other little falls and bumps that come with being 10 months (including slamming his forehead into the counter at the doctors office as I was holding him and signing in).  Pray for protection for this little one!!  I feel like he WANTS stitches!  Trying to keep him whole as long as possible!  I need to wrap with one in bubble wrap and put a helmet on him NOW... :)

Video's of the Boys!

Vale, just like his daddy when he was young, LOVES the vacuum cleaner!!  He chases around the big vacuum and always wants to operate the dust buster himself.  He's a sweetheart!

O the days of Sept 001 from Courtney Mahon on Vimeo.

Connor likes to tell stories!!  He stand in the middle of the floor on his stool and just lets them rip...
Most of the time the main character is Jesus...  and it's not always doctrinally correct but we're working on it...
